Tacos—stay for the service :) Generations of Lutheran women have gathered in Thankoffering
worship services since the early 1900’s. Thankofferings show gratitude for God’s blessings and give us an important and tangible way to express that gratitude. It is a tradition grounded in our celebration of community, of meeting together to joyfully give thanks for what God has given us. Thankofferings have always been, and still are, our opportunity to say thank you to God in both significant and ordinary moments. Your thankofferings support the total outreach of our church women to live out our mission—“mobilizing women to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ.” Together we can do more than we could ever do apart. Property Management Work Day at the Parsonage 6:30 pm, Monday, September 17. We would like to patch holes in the walls and scrape up glue from the hardwood floors—any help would be appreciated.
The Youth & Family and Stewardship boards are asking members of St. Peter to join us in the Denver Days Parade on August 18th. We are putting together a superhero-themed float and would love for all Jesus's sidekicks, young and old, to join us. We welcome anyone to come and wear a superhero costume if you have it. If you have some costumes we could borrow for that morning please let us know. If you are interested in walking (or riding) with us, contact Eve Pautsch at [email protected] or 319-939-5229.
The last day for our Sunday School will be this Sunday, May 6, 2018.
Thank you to all of our volunteers for the 2017-2018 school year! And to Lisa Michels our director, thank you. The youth who will be attending the National Youth Gathering will be auctioning off homemade pies following worship on Sunday, February 18, 2018.
Buy one for your sweetheart! Buy one for yourself! Trevor Eggena (grandson of Al and Dorothy) will be our guest auctioneer! Classes for 7 & 8th Graders will be Wednesday, September 20 & 27 at 6:30 pm.
